It's official. Joe Maddon will not be managing the Cubs again after today's game.
Joe managed the Cubs for five seasons, leading the Cubs to four straight playoff appearances; a first in Cubs' history. In those four playoff appearances, the Cubs made three straight NLCS and made it to one World Series which they won.
This post is not about whether the Cubs made the right or wrong decision, and it's not about what Joe should do next. Instead it is to say thank you to Joe. He lead the Cubs to an amazing five years and gave us countless memories as well as the biggest win in sport's history.
So thank you Joe! I know every Cubs fan wishes you the best and if we ever see you out and about we will grab that shot and a beer you promised back in 2014.
