Jim Deshaies has been a long time TV personality for the Cubs. Since 2013, he's worked with Len Kasper providing color analysis. He's also known as JD (great nickname). He also is the proud owner of a vote for the hall of fame.
Dear JD,
I've enjoyed every Cubs broadcast you've worked on. In good times or bad, you've provided solid analysis. Your insight has helped me understand the game a bit more, and I really do appreciate it. Some color guys just sit back and name stats, but you offer insight into the skills and mental games that go into a plate appearance. I love the games within the game that is baseball, and your pointers have helped me become more appreciative of the depth.
You and Len have terrific chemistry. It's just the right amount of homerism, plenty of energy, and fantastic insight. Your broadcasts are well balanced between facts and fun, and are always a pleasure to watch, even if the Cubs lose.
You have a fantastic subtle sense of humor. Some guys are class clowns, and it gets old. You opt for quality over quantity, and have some real sharp zingers that make me chuckle. Rather than a constant stream of humor, you ensure that all your jokes land well. You are really funny.
I look forward to many more years of JD on TV. You are a big part of my Cubs experience, and I want more of it!
