Love Letters From Pronk: Elise Menaker

Love Letters From Pronk is an ongoing series where Pronk shares his love for somebody connected to the Cubs. Sometimes funny, sometimes weird, sometimes touching, Pronk likes to make 100% sure people know that they are loved, and best expresses that through gushing letters. Today's recipient: Cubs TV personality Elise Menaker.

Elise joined the Cubs family as a TV personality for Marquee sports network this past year. Despite a lot of the logistical challenges of trying to have a baseball season in the middle of a pandemic, Elise's upbeat persona helped make fan-less baseball fun for us Cubs fans. After 5 years of various experiences being a host, sideline reporter and TV host, it seems like she's found a professional home in Chicago.

Elise grew up in the Chicago suburbs, and is well acquainted with the city. Elise might also be hustling the Cubs when it comes to being a ballplayer. She won two softball championships while at Cornell, was a three time All-Ivy league player, Cornell Hall-of-Famer and later played professional softball in Sweden. I'd love to see her compete in a batting practice home run derby with some current Cubs.

Elise celebrated her birthday on the 26th. HAPPY BIRTHDAY from all of us here at Cubs DNA!

Dear Elise,

I enjoyed watching you as a part of the Marquee team this year. You always had terrific insight and new things to share. It made an unbearable year a bit more enjoyable. Your on air contributions helped make every Cubs broadcast a great one, and I hope you are part of the team for many more years to come.

I really enjoyed your Twitter feed throughout the year. There were lots of interesting nuggets of trivia which stumped my 20+ years of Cubs fandom. You were also really good and finding some in depth quotes from unlikely sources that were really telling about the state of the team. Point being: you are a fantastic follow.

Your contributions to the team this year make me optimistic for a great TV experience in the future. I hope you stay with the Cubs and Marquee for a long time!

XOXO,

Pronk
