Love Letters From Pronk is an ongoing series where Pronk shares his love for somebody connected to the Cubs. Sometimes funny, sometimes weird, Pronk likes to make 100% sure people know that they are loved, and best expresses that through gushing letters. Today's pick: Cubs mascot Clark the Cub
Clark has been a fixture of the Cubs since 2014. Originally mocked for having no pants, he's helped the Cubs make a new youth outreach to younger fans. He's present at all games and events, adding a fun twist to things. He has his own kids club, helping develop new fans. Since he's become a Cub, the team has a .560 winning percentage. So let's give him some credit eh? Perhaps one day he will find his pants. Then he'll belong with the all time greats. (Counterpoint: Clark should never have pants. The end.--Staci)
Oh wait, he's already there.
Dear Clark,
I'm happy to have you as a part of the Cubs family. Your giant smile is infectious and rubs off on so many. You have your critics, and they all have one thing in common: they are just jealous of you.
My favorite Clark memory was at the 2020 Cubs Convention. You were a part of the kids press conference section, answering questions with Rizzo, Baez and Schwarber. While you didn't speak, you would answer using a dry erase board. Your answers were very funny, and had the entire auditorium in laughter.
I am glad that you are a part of the Cubs family. Mascots help give their teams a fun edge and are a great extra perk at the ballpark. Since you came on board, you've helped make the Cubs just that much more fun. Keep it up!
I look forward to seeing you soon!
PS. Hi Clark! It's always fun to see you at Wrigley! Thanks for coming over and wishing my sis a happy birthday in 2015! And it was awesome seeing your World Series ring in 2017! xo Tina
