The Origin of the Sparklespants

(or how I did NOT steal Kris Bryant's underwear)
In real life, I produce and manage tv commercials, print and web content. Imagine my excitement when I got to work on an Adidas spot with Kris Bryant! This ad was produced just before the playoffs in 2018, with Bryant among other super star players.
As you can see in the below video, KB gets doused with Gatorade. After he showered and changed, the wet clothes he wore ended up in a garbage bag. I asked the Adidas client if she wanted the clothes back. She replied, "Nah, you can throw it out". Hmm. NEVER.
Excitedly, I told the others about my day and obtaining KB's worn, wet clothes, including his compression tights. I had no idea what I was going to do with those tights, but I washed them and stored them away.
During the Wild Card game against the Rockies last year, I brought out all my lucky charms, t-shirts, W flags, everything, to try and change the Cubs' luck. I decided to bring out the tights and put them on (and TBH, to get THATMUCHCLOSER to KB). Alas, the Cubs lost and they went back into storage for a few months.
On Opening Day 2019, the Cubs played the Rangers and I decided to watch the game in my new CTA-themed Schwarber T-shirt that I won from Cubs Twitter, KB's tights, shorts and socks. Our luck was better this time around, as the Cubs beat the Rangers 12-4.
We joked around on-line about how the tights could be like the pants from the movie "The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants." And even more perfectly, Brooke was headed to Greece (Corfu) for a couple of months for work. So off they went to Greece!
When Brooke came back to the States, she shipped Sparklespants to Staci, then to Mandy for the remaining of the season.
And there you have it. The story of Sparklespants and some of its adventures during the 2019 Cubs season.
