Minor League Monday: Week 9 of MiLB

Week 9 saw the affiliates go 14-10, some incredible performances, and a lot of rain. Here's your Cub's Minor League action for this week:
AAA - Iowa Cubs
The Cubs won their series against the Indy Spiders (Indians) 4-2 and are now 21-30 on the season.
Tony Wolters and Alfonso Rivas both went yard twice in the series. That gives Wolters 3 on the year and was Rivas' first 2 of the season.
Abiatal Avelino went 9 for 21 with 3 RBI
Michael Hermosillo went 7 for 20 including a long ball and 5 RBI. He was noticeably absent from the lineup on Sunday
Ben Leeper was dominate with 3 IP 0 H 1 BB 3 K's
Mike Hauschild threw a 6 inning gem allowing 0 R and only 3 H with 9 K's
Trevor Williams made a rehab start. 5 IP 1 R 0 ER 3 K's.
Iowa Cubs Player of the week: Michael Hermosillo
AA - Tennessee Smokies
The Smokies won their series against the Trash Pandas 5-1 and are now 21-30 on the season
Chistopher Morel now has his own holiday. July 2nd will forever be Morel day as he went 4 for 6 with 3 homeruns and 5 RBI in the July 2nd double header. He went 8 for 22 with 4 Homeruns and 9 RBI for the series
Brennen Davis went yard twice and drove in 4 RBI including this RBI double
Javier Assad with a 6 inning 0 R outing allowing only 2 hits
Erich Uelmen with a 6 inning 0 R outing allowing only 3 hits

High-A - South Bend Cubs
South Bend had a tough rain soaked series against the Lake County Captains. The Cubs went 2-4 and are now 22-31 on the season.
Nelson Velazquez went 7 for 18 with 2 HR and 5 RBI. Velazquez now has 10 homeruns on the season
Jake Washer hit his first homerun of the season. Tina is proud
Delvin Zinn picked up his 31st stolen base of the season
Ryan Jensen had his best outing of the season going 6 innings of perfect baseball
South Bend Cubs Player of the Week: Nelson Velazquez and Ryan Jensen
Low-A - Myrtle Beach Pelicans
Myrtle Beach split their series with the Wood Ducks. They're now 24-29 on the season.
Ed Howard had the best game of his early pro career going 4 for 5 with a double and a triple. He went 6 for 18 on the series.
Ryan Reynolds went 6 for 18 with 3 RBI
Ethan Hearn hit the lone Pelicans homerun and went 6 for 12 with 6 RBI for the series.
DJ Herz 5 innings with 3 H 1R 8 K's
Manuel Espinoza 5 innings with 2 H 1 R 0 ER
Carlos Ocampo with 2 appearances. 3.1 innings 1 H 0 R 6 K's
