Love Letters From Pronk: Fitzy
Love Letters From Pronk is an ongoing series where Pronk shares his love for somebody connected to the Cubs. Sometimes funny, sometimes weird, Pronk likes to make 100% sure people know that they are loved, and best expresses that through gushing letters. Today's pick: Cubs fan Erin Fitzgerald, better known as Fitzy.

Fitzy is a special Cubs fan. She doesn't just sit back and let things happen, and is a proactive person. She's a fellow supporter of the Anthony Rizzo Family Foundation. I learned of her several weeks ago, when she was offering to make custom masks for $10, with proceeds going to ARFF. I needed masks and love tye-die, so it was a no brainer to purchase a couple. And she did a great job:
Her mask fundraiser went well, as she raised over $2,000 for the Anthony Rizzo Family Foundation! Jaw drop dot gif. How cool is it to see something so simple go viral and raise some funds for the needy. This is awesome:
Dear Fitzy,
Thank you for being a great part of the Chicago Cubs family. Thank you for all the time and effort that you put into your mask fundraiser. I'm so thrilled for you that it blew up into such a big thing. A lot of people talk the talk, but few go the step further to walk the walk. We need more people who take action, people like you.
Thank you for the awesome masks. As a fellow dead head, I've got a thing for tye die. You did a great job. I'm not sure if you have an Etsy store planned out yet, but I bet you'd be totally capable of running an awesome store.
I love discovering awesome Cubs fans like you. It's nice to to know that while we all share a mutual love for our north siders, we are all humans who need to step to the plate for each other. I hope that others follow your lead, and are inspired by your success story. 2020 might be a dark year, but stories like yours give us a shining light of hope. Way to go!
XOXO,
Pronk
PS: Did you get to any of the Dead and Company shows at Wrigley from the last couple of years?
