Twitter is a cesspool of nonsense. It's filled with people dropping strawman arguments as facts, just looking to be first instead of correct. It is a breeding ground for toxic levels of group think, causing much more division than problems than whatever positive value it has. Yet, it does have value. It provides a voice to some good people, if you can sift through the muck for long enough. There are diamonds in the rough.
One of those diamonds is Caleb Webb. He's an insightful Cubs fan, with fantastic perspective. He co hosts the Meetings on the Mound podcast, which is a great listen. He's got a great sense of humor, loves video games, and says lots of nice things about Cubs DNA. So today, I wanted to give him a big ole' thank you. Thank you for being awesome. We appreciate all the nice comments and funny jokes you send our way. Everyone got a good laugh out of you making fun of me for the microwave sushi thing. Even me. I might have shed some tears of shame afterwords, but you do have a great sense of humor.
Officially, I love you upbeat perspective on Cubs stuff. You don't take the losses too seriously, enjoy the wins and post tons of fun tidbits along the way. Your twitter is reliably good, and that's a pretty big accomplishment.
I've enjoyed your meetings on the mound podcast, as it helped get me through the lack of baseball earlier this year.
I appreciate you reaching out and becoming a friend of the blog, but also of me. It's nice to know there are good people out there on the interwebs. Not just people who are also into the Cubs, but people who've been shaped by video games, keep family as a strong priority, put God first. You are the total package.
